The Labor and Employment Group of Sulloway & Hollis provides comprehensive counseling and litigation services to employers throughout New England. We advise clients on all areas of labor and employment law, ranging from prudent practices to the development and interpretation of employee handbooks and employee policies.

Our attorneys investigate discrimination and harassment complaints and defend claims before federal and state administrative agencies throughout New England. We frequently appear before state and federal courts in connection with wrongful discharge suits, wage and hour matters, and other employment-related litigation.

In the non-unionized arena, our team works with clients to keep them that way. For employers with unions, we provide guidance on contract administration and achieve successful results in collective-bargaining negotiations and grievance and arbitration matters. Our attorneys design and implement retirement plans and employee benefit programs of all types and, when necessary, defend ERISA and other claims based upon benefits issues.

We have a special expertise working with medical groups, hospitals, municipalities, and school districts. In many instances, we function as in-house labor and employment counsel, addressing our clients’ daily challenges in today’s complicated and risky labor and employment environment. Clients choose us because we successfully help them avoid claims, as well as resolve claims brought against them.

Again and again, our clients focus on four key words in describing our firm – Results, Integrity, Value, Leadership. These are the core values by which we live and work.

As a preeminent law firm in northern New England, Sulloway & Hollis offers a wide range of services to our clients. Our lawyers represent businesses, public entities, non-profit organizations, and individuals in business, regulatory, and litigation matters. We recognize that all legal issues a client faces do not fall neatly into one practice area, so we work collaboratively to deliver comprehensive legal solutions tailored to our clients’ needs. Our practice focuses on:

  • Health Care and Medical Malpractice Defense
  • Labor and Employment and School Law
  • Litigation
  • Real Estate, Land Use, and Finance
  • Business and Corporate Law
  • Trusts and Estates and Probate Administration
  • Domestic Relations

Our multi-disciplinary and practical approach to problem solving allows us to represent our clients effectively and cost efficiently. Our client surveys show that our clients respect our work and value our judgment. We primarily serve clients with legal matters in New Hampshire, Vermont, Maine, and Massachusetts.
